Ethiopia enjoys an amazing scenic beauty. It is rich in mountains, rivers, lakes, wildlife, plants, birds, water falls including the famous Blue Nile Falls, and many more. The country has nine national parks and 36 game reserve areas. For instance, the Semien Mountains and Bale Mountains are the most spectacular and magnificent adventure sites.

The Simien Mountain massifs constitute many summits above 4000 meters. Among them, the highest point is found at Ras Dashen (4620m) which is attainable while crossing the breathtaking scenery and panorama. Ras Dashen is also the fourth highest Mountain in Africa.

The Bale Mountains Massifs is the richest place in afro-alpine habitat in the whole of Africa. It is an area of high altitude plateau rising to a height of more than 4,000 meters above sea level. Mount Tullu Dimtu, the second highest peak in Ethiopia (4,377m), is found in this area. Furthermore, the place is rich in endemic mammals and birds. [Read more]

It dwells on steep cliffs between 2500 - 4500 m. And eats bushes, herbs, lichens, shrubs, grass, and creepers.

You can spot the bleeding heart Gelada Baboon in many places in Ethiopia only. The simien Mountains and the Bale Mountains are their homes.
